SCAC Releases 2008 Field Hockey Tournament Bracket


SUWANEE, Ga. - The SCAC released the 2008 Field Hockey Championship bracket on Monday and defending champion DePauw University is the tournament's top seed. Tournament Bracket

Despite a season-ending 2-1 loss to Sewanee, DePauw (6-2 SCAC, 13-3 overall) is the top seed and will attempt to be the first team in SCAC history to defend its conference crown.

DePauw defeated Sewanee 3-2 in the 2007 title match at Sewanee.

This year's event will be held at Centre College and begins Friday, November 7 with No. 4 seed Sewanee taking on No. 5 seed Hendrix College at Noon.

DePauw plays the winner of the Sewanee/Hendrix match at 11 a.m. in Saturday's first semifinal match, followed by No. 2 Centre taking on No. 3 Rhodes College.

Sunday will begin with the consolation match at 11 a.m., followed by the battle for the 2008 SCAC field hockey title at 1:30 p.m.
