JOSH LEWIS OF AUSTIN COLLEGE, a senior pitcher from Rowlett, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played through Sunday February 19th.
Lewis threw a gem to earn his second win of the season, striking out 10 batters while walking zero in a complete game shutout victory over Dallas Christian.
Lewis allowed just two hits in the seven inning 7-0 win for the 'Roos.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore pitcher Matthew Devillier of Centenary College twirled a six hitter and allowed just one earned run in seven innings of work in the Gents Friday night win at LeTourneau. Senior pitcher Hayden Holley of Southwestern University did not give up a hit in two appearances over the weekend and picked up the win in the series opener against Huntingdon. Freshman pitcher Jacob Wieder of Texas Lutheran University tossed three innings of one-hit baseball in the series finale against UT-Dallas, while striking out one. Senior pitcher Kevin Flores of Trinity University pitched six shutout innings for the Tigers, allowing just two hits, and striking out two batters without issuing a walk.
