CODY CROWDER OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a freshman utility player from Shepherd, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Offensive Player of the Week for games played through Sunday February 12th.
Crowder led the Gents to a 3-0 week at East Texas Baptist University, recording 11 hits, six runs batted in and five runs over the series.
Crowder recorded at least three hits, one double, one run scored and one RBI in each of the games. His performance last week was highlighted by the Gents 10-0 win over the Tigers, where Crowder went 5-of-5 with one run, three RBI and a double.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore outfielder Jonas Garcia of Schreiner University helped the Mountaineers to a 2-1 weekened, batting .500 and recording nine stolen bases. Sophomore catcher Colby Schmidt of Southwestern University led the Pirates to a 2-1 record at the Firehouse Classic, hitting .615 with one run scored and seven RBI. Senior third baseman Colby Schrade of Texas Lutheran University hit .385 over the Bulldogs' 2-1 weekend, scoring five runs and driving in six. Freshman outfielder Rafe Chaumette of Trinity University hit .350 over five games for the Tigers, scoring three runs and driving in three.
