Trinity's 2008 Championship Game Rally Selected Top SCAC Baseball Moment
SUWANEE, Ga. - At the 2008 SCAC Championship, Millsaps College stood poised to become just the third baseball team in league history to win two games on championship Sunday and come out of the loser's bracket to earn a conference title. Millsaps, who had forced the "if necessary" contest by defeating Trinity University, 10-5, in Sunday's first game, was leading game two 5-2 heading into the bottom of the ninth. The Majors were just three outs away from their seventh conference baseball title and a berth in the NCAA tournament.

SCAC announces Spring 2011 Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll
SUWANEE, Ga. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) named a record 1,109 student-athletes to the 2011 SCAC Spring Academic Honor Roll on Thursday. This year's total eclipsed last year's previous record of 1,077 student-athletes.

Major Changes for the SCAC Following 2011-12 Academic Year
SUWANEE, Ga. – In an expected announcement made today at the annual spring meeting of the league’s Board of Directors, the Presidents of Birmingham-Southern College, Centre College, Hendrix College, Millsaps College, Oglethorpe University, Rhodes College and Sewanee-The University of the South declared their intent to withdraw from the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference effective June 30, 2012.

Trinity Eliminated With 9-6 Loss To Linfield in NCAA West Region
ABILENE, Texas - Trinity University's comeback fell short in a 9-6 loss to Linfield College, ending Trinity's season in the NCAA West Regional Tournament at Walt Driggers Field on Friday. Trinity (34-13) went 1-2 at the regional tournament, which was the sixth NCAA Division III Playoff appearances for the Tigers.

Rhodes' Brent Lindsey Joins 200 Hit Club
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Senior outfielder/first baseman Brent Lindsey joined exclusive company in the bottom of the seventh inning this afternoon as he collected his 200th career hit. Lindsey's 200th hit came in the form of a two out, game tying, RBI double to left center.

MILLINGTON, Tenn. - Rhodes and Oglethorpe played what is believed to be the longest game in NCAA Division III history as the Lynx pushed across a run in the top of the 21st inning and edged by the Stormy Petrels, 8-7 nearly seven hours after the game's first pitch.

Hawkins Becomes 29th SCAC Player to Reach 200 Hits
JACKSON, Miss. - The Millsaps baseball team took game one of the three-game set Friday night, 11-3 from the visiting LaGrange College Panthers. Senior Will Hawkins collected four hits on the night to reach 200 for his career and become just the eighth Major in school history and 29th in SCAC history to accomplish the feat.

Sewanee's Schurlknight honored as National Division III Pitcher-of-the-Week
NEWBERG, Ore. - A torrid week in Arizona by Michael Pascarella of Pitt-Bradford and a no-hit effort by Lee Schurlknight of Sewanee have earned them the second NCAA Division III National Hitter and Pitcher of the Week honors for 2011, covering games of March 7-13, as voted on by a panel of D-III members of the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

SUWANEE, Ga. - Two pitching performances stood out in the SCAC during the past week. Sewanee first-year pitcher Lee Schurlknight tossed a no-hitter in the Tigers' 19-0 win over Rust on March 10 while Trinity senior pitcher Noah Solomon tossed a complete game shutout in a 10-0 win over Millsaps March 13.

Scannell becomes Trinity's all-time leader in baseball head coaching victories
SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The defending SCAC champion Trinity University Tigers swept a two-game series with the Austin College Kangaroos Sunday by a 15-10 victory at the Trinity Baseball Field, and in the process, Tim Scannell, in his 13th season at the Tigers helm, became Trinity's all-time leader in baseball head coaching wins.

Trinity Named Preseason Favorite To Win 2011 SCAC Baseball Championship
SUWANEE, Ga. - – In exclusive voting by the head coaches in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC), Trinity University was voted the preseason favorite to win the 2011 SCAC baseball championship. Head coach Tim Scannell’s Tigers received nine of the 11 coaches’ first-place votes followed by Millsaps College with the remaining two first-place votes.

Austin College Names Rise Head Baseball Coach
SHERMAN, Texas – James Rise has been named the new head coach of the Austin College baseball team, Athletics Director David Norman has announced. Rise comes to Austin College from Occidental College, where he served as an assistant coach for two seasons.
